(NEXSTAR) – When it comes to naming our pets, lots of Americans favor ever-popular choices such as Max, Charlie, Milo or Luna, recent studies have shown. But other, more offbeat names have been gaining steam over the last year, even if they’re not yet popular enough to dethrone the classics.Rover, an online marketplace for pet owners, has released the results of its 11th annual “Most Popular Pet Names” report, detailing not only the most common pet names across the country but also the top-trending names that pet owners are increasingly embracing in the United States. AUSTIN (KXAN) — While training to be an obstetrician and gynecologist in Fort Worth, Dr. Danielle Mathisen learned she was pregnant. Her initial excitement sharply turned to heartbreak when she discovered 18 weeks into her pregnancy that her baby had no formed brain structures, only one kidney and a hole in the spine. Mathisen’s doctor told her that the baby was unlikely to survive or would suffocate upon delivery. Mathisen and her husband decided to have an abortion. NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City Eric Adams believes the Amtrak train service will be partially back up and running by Thursday. Services between Albany and New York City were suspended due to structure issues with a privately owned, non-Amtrak garage located above the Empire Line tracks in New York City. ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Department of Conservation is now stocking St. Louis area lakes with rainbow trout. Nearly 40,000 trout will be stocked in the lakes from November until February. This is an annual program to encourage fishing in the state's more urban areas.The fish are going into nine St. Louis City and County lakes, Union City Lake in Franklin County, and five lakes in the August A. Busch Conservation Area in St. Charles County. Gendron Lake, Jefferson Lake, and Wild Acres Park Lake won't be stocked due to ongoing renovation projects.
